To celebrate the first day of summer, hundreds of people occupied Copacabana beach on Dec 21, clapping with their Havaianas sandals. Situated in Rio de Janeiro and one of Brazil's "postcard beaches", Copacabana beach was filled with the rhythm of electro-samba that day, welcoming the hottest season of the year.

Havaianas' flagship store in Sao Paulo walked away with 'World's Best Shopping Building' at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) Awards 09, held in Barcelona on 4-6 November. Designed by Isay Weinfeld, the store was chosen by some of the world’s most distinguished architects and renowned industry experts.
